Good Morning dear Toddlers!

Here are the activities for today:

Small Group Activity: Scribbling Approximate Time: 10 minutes

Materials Needed: ·      Paper ·      Crayons or markers

Vocabulary: Draw, write, make, lines, circles

How to start the activity: ·      Tell the child, “Today we are going to draw on a paper. I wonder what can you draw.”

What to do in the middle: ·      Let the child scribble around the paper. Ask open-ended questions about his/her work and make comments of what you see the child doing, “You are using color red. You are making circles with the red color. I wonder what color you will use next.”

How to finish the activity: ·      Give the child a 5 minutes warning (“We will clean up in 5 minutes”) ·      After the 5 minutes are over, say something like, “The five minutes finish, now is time to clean up.” ·      You can ask the child where he/she would like to exhibit his/her work (in the room, in the living room, in the fridge, etc.)

Small Group Activity: Shaving Foam with Cars Approximate Time: 15 minutes

Materials Needed: ·      Shaving cream or shaving foam ·      A small table ·      Cars of different sizes

Vocabulary: Lines, prints, soft, smooth

How to start the activity: ·      Tell the child, “Today we are going to work with shaving cream. I wonder what would happen when the car rolls on the shaving cream.”

What to do in the middle: ·      Let the child explore, feel and touch the shaving cream. Listen to his/her comments and acknowledge them. Give him/her the cars and observe how he/she uses them. Follow the child’s lead and have a fun time!

How to finish the activity: ·      Give the child a 5 minutes warning (“We will clean up in 5 minutes”) ·      After the 5 minutes are over, say something like, “The five minutes finish, now is time to clean up.” ·      Bring a bucket with water and ask the child to place the dirty cars inside to wash them. ·      Give the child a towel and ask him/her to help you clean.
