Good Morning my dear Toddlers!

Today our Message Board Meeting will be at 1 p.m. due to a medical appointment that I have in the morning. Thank you!!!

Today is "Show & Tell" Please have your favorite toy next to you to show it to your friends.

Have a great weekend!

Small Group Activity: Basket toss
Approximate Time: 15 minutes
Materials Needed:
      Big basket
Items to throw in the basket like small balls
Vocabulary: throw, in, out, how many, aim, count
How to start the activity:
Tell your child that you’ll play a game of throwing items inside a basket.
What to do in the middle:
Take a turn and throw.  You can deliberately throw some out. Count how many are in the basket and how many are out.  Point at each item as you count.  It’s okay if your child moves close to the basket.  Concentrate on counting the items.
Extension:
Have a chart marked with two columns of in and out.  Do tally marks after each round.  Compare which round got more tallies.
How to finish the activity:
Give 5 minutes warning.  Tell your child that they will have a last turn.  Clean up together then move to the next part of the day.

Extension:
You may ask your child to recall the story in sequence, from the beginning to the end.  Encourage her/him to use words like, first, then, next, and finally.
How to finish the activity:
Give the child a 5 minutes warning.
The child might ask to watch the video again. You can ask him/her why he/she liked the video.
