Thursday, April 30th> Activities


Good Morning my dear Toddlers!

Today is our last day of school! Next time you will come to school you will not a Toddler anymore! You will go to PreK like a big boy or big girl! Wow!!! I can't believe today is our last day. I will see you at 12:30 p.m. for our last Morning Greeting!

I will be sending an email later today with summer activities and helpful information!!!

I will miss you my dear Toddler B!

Small Group Activity: Paper plate decorating                                           
Approximate Time: 15 minutes
Materials Needed:
  • Paper plate or plain paper
  • Markers
  • Foil papers cut into small pieces
  • Different colors of papers if available
  • Glue stick or liquid glue
Vocabulary: different, colors, colorful shiny, white
How to start the activity:
  • Put the materials on the table
  • Tell your child that you are going to make your paper plate colorful
What to do in the middle: 
  • Watch and see how your child will choose to use the materials.  Acknowledge what he/she is doing and offer help if needed. 
Extension:
You may ask your child to describe how the paper plate looks

How to finish the activity: 
  • Give the child a 5 minutes warning.
  • Clean up together  



Small Group Activity: Pomegranate
                                   Exploration                                        
Approximate Time: 15 minutes
Materials Needed:
  • Pomegranate fruit or a fruit that has many seeds
  • Plastic knife
  • White butcher paper to cover the table
  • Paper towels
  • Apron
Vocabulary: fruit, pull, red, many seeds,
How to start the activity:
  • After preparing the table put the fruit on the table cut into two and wait for your child’s comment. 
  • Tell your child that you need help to remove the seeds from the fruit. 
What to do in the middle: 
  • Watch what your child may do with the seeds.  Put them aside or eat
Extension:
Encourage your child to line up the seeds and count.
How to finish the activity: 
  • Give 5 minutes warning.  Clean up together and wash hands
